Why Strata Support Squad?
Strata Support Squad was established by Roel Boomsma after experiencing first-hand the frustration that many strata committees face when dealing with maintenance and repair work.
Too often, relatively simple maintenance issues resulted in excessive costs, poor communication, and work that failed to address the underlying problem. Strata Support Squad was created to provide practical, independent, and cost-effective support that helps strata committees make informed decisions, coordinate works effectively, and keep their buildings well maintained.
Roel's interest in building, repairing, and improving things developed long before Strata Support Squad. From woodworking and home renovation projects to more than a decade of work on tulip and lily farms, he developed a practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving and an appreciation for doing things properly.
Today, Strata Support Squad combines that hands-on experience with a professional and analytical approach. In addition to running the business, Roel holds a PhD in Economics and Business, is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and works as a business school academic. These experiences help bring clear communication, careful planning, and attention to detail to every project.
Whether it's investigating maintenance concerns, coordinating contractors, addressing fire safety defects, or improving common property, the goal remains the same: helping strata committees achieve better outcomes and avoid unnecessary costs.
